3rd Indo-Nepal Friendship Taekwondo Championship
& 5th ITF Training Camp held Successfully
Taekwondo ITF Nepal organized 5th ITF Training Camp on 7-8 January, 2010 and 3rd Indo-Nepal Friendship Taekwondo Championship on 9 January 2010. The Training Camp was held at a tourist area, Swayambhunath, emphasizing ITF Sparring, Kicking, Patterns and fundamental exercises. Mr. Laxman Basnet, International instructor and referee, imparted training in the camp. There were 102 participants including instructors and trainers fromNepal, India and Bangladesh. Gayaji Khadka, Ramchandra Khika Khadka, Pradip Thapa and Kusheshwar Yadav gave tests for 2nd Dan.









Furthermore, in the Championship Nepal won 7 Gold, 9 Silver and 17 Bronze medals in the Indo-Nepal friendship Taekwondo Championship of Men and Women in 13 Weight Categorys. Likewise, India won 6 Gold, 4 Silver and 9 Bronze medals simultaneously. Preety Kaur of India won the best player of Championship and Sasman Basnet of Nepal won the best player award in the Men Category.

In the award distribution ceremony, Chief Guest Pitambar Timilsina, Vice-president of National Sports Council Nepal, Mr. Laxman Basnet -President of Taekwondo ITF Nepal, Ang Temba Sherpa-Advisor of Taekwondo ITF Nepal, Sandip Kumar Surya -President of Indian Taekwondo Board & MD. Mukhtar Hussian President of Taekwondo ITF Bangladesh contributed in the medal and certificate distribution ceremony. The Championship was held at Nepal Police Health Club, Kathmandu.
